  1. Selecting an item from the the Sniffer menus:

  3. Indicate the item you wish to focus on by moving the
  4. highlight bar in the menu tree to that item.  What you
  5. will actually observe are the menus moving in the
  6. window, with the center of focus, the highlight bar,
  7. always in the center of the screen.

  9. To move the focus lower, press the down arrow key.
  10. To move the focus higher, press the up arrow key.
  11.  
  12. To move left or right use the left or right arrow keys.

  14. What is seen in the menu windows
  15.  
  16. The menu is a multi-level tree, which is both more
  17. complex and more flexible than simple pulldown menus.
  18.  
  19. The middle window shows alternatives at the current
  20. level of the menus, and the right window shows what
  21. will be the alternatives if you chose the centered item
  22. by moving right.

  24. The left window shows where you came from, and is
  25. useful in keeping your bearings as you navigate
  26. around in the menu tree.

  28. WARNING: Having problems?

  30. Check that the NumLock key was not accidentally
  31. depressed.  If the NumLock indicator light is ON, press
  32. the NumLock key once more to reset the keypad to normal
  33. function so that the directional arrow keys are active.

  35. Faster ways to navigate in the menus:
  36.  
  37. You can move to the first item in a vertical list by
  38. pressing the Home key, and to the last by pressing End.
  39.  
  40. Another shortcut:  You may press the first letter of
  41. the item name to jump to that item.  If two or more
  42. items have the same first letter, repeated depressions
  43. of that letter key will select the other items
  44. sequentially from top to bottom.
